FAQs

Have questions about renting photo and video equipment from SYNC? Here are a few answers to frequently asked questions. 

  • Use our Quote Request Form or send us an email (SYNC@SYNCphotorental.com) with your dates, equipment list and any other relevant details. We will get a quote out to you as soon as we can.

     

    To confirm you rental, we will need Rental Paperwork and Certificate of Insurance.

  • We are 24/7 by appointment, but our regular business hours are Mon-Fri 9:00am to 5:30pm.

  • When:

    • Pickup Window: 2pm to 5:30pm on pickup date (the day before your shoot)

    • Drop-Off Window: 9:00am to 11:00am on due date (the day after your shoot)

    • After hours/weekend and delivery services are available upon request for an additional fee pending staff availability

    Please use the east side lot we share with our neighbor Stars in the Ceiling and ring the doorbell upon arrival for service.

  • We provide 24/7 access to our gated lot with key lockboxes to pick up and return your Sprinter Van or Cube Truck rental. Keep an eye out for instructions which include your unique lockbox code sent via email, usually the day before your shoot.

    Vehicle rentals are on a 24hr time frame and must be picked up and dropped off each shoot day unless a multi-day rental.

  • Yes. Please reference the pick-up/drop off instructions we send via email the day before your rental. You must leave your keys in the lockbox we set up for you in case we need to move your vehicle.
    *A $25 charge will be added to the rental invoice for each day and each night a vehicle is parked in our lot.

    • Daily Rates

      • Pick-up after 3pm and the rental begins on the next day. Return before 10 am on the following day.
        (e.g. Pick-up Monday after 3pm, return Wednesday by 10am)

      • Pick-up before 3pm and return within 24 hours for a 1 day rental charge.

    • Weekend Rental

      • Collect equipment after 3pm on Friday and return it the following Monday before 10am for a 1-day rental charge.

    • Weekly Rates

      • Keep the equipment for up to 7 consecutive days and only pay for a 3 day rental.

    • *NOTE: Vehicle rentals are on a 24-hour day, 5-day week rental period and do not receive special weekend pricing.

  • We charge $100 per hour for every hour we need to be available beyond our normal business hours. Weekend drop offs and pick ups must be scheduled in advance by appointment only and are based on staff availability.

  • Yes. Our delivery fees are based on time of day and distance from our location. Once we know when and where you need delivery, we can provide you a quote. We also require that a member of your crew be present for drop off and pick up. Rates quoted are for curbside or dockside delivery only and do not include any setup or breakdown services. Our standard service hours for delivery are 7am-7pm M-F and anything outside of this time frame is subject to before/after-hours fees.

  • Our preferred shipper is Fedex. If you can provide us with a Fedex number, we are happy to ship your order. Please keep in mind, there are some items that are not suitable for shipping such as large stands and booms.

  • For smaller, low-value rentals, we sometimes accept a credit card hold for the full replacement value of the gear instead of insurance. Upon return of the equipment, we will release the hold on your credit card minus the rental fee. This is on a case-by-case basis and at our discretion so please ask if you think this may apply to your order.

    For larger orders or orders including items that are more inherently dangerous, we do require insurance. Although we do not offer insurance ourselves, we do have a partnership with Athos and recommend them regularly, especially for short-term policies.   •  Yes, we accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

  • Yes. While we do still need a credit card on file under your account for any holds that may need to be placed, you may request to pay via another method upon receipt of final invoice and we will provide that info to you along with an updated invoice with credit card fees removed.

  • No, we prefer a credit card.

  • In most cases, yes. While we prefer to have your rental confirmed by noon the day before your pick up in order to provide the best service possible, we do accommodate last minute requests. Commonly, the main issues we encounter are receiving proper Rental Paperwork and COI in a timely fashion.

  • Please let us know as soon as possible so we do not encounter any issues with shortages for other rentals. Depending on your rental dates or time, there may be no additional charge to return at a later time. Otherwise, we may need to add an additional day to your rental.
